THIS week, it was announced that a minor change to the residence permit application will come into force.
While most of the application details remain the same, the new change focused on the health insurance element of the process.
Voices readers contacted us and we visited the police station and can confirm that:
If you are under 60, you DO need to have health insurance (comprehensive in/out patients and accidental) in place BEFORE you apply for your permit.
If you are over 60, you DON’T need to have health insurance BEFORE you make an application. But you will need to obtain it after you get your residence permit and (Didim Polis said) within 3 months of that permit date.
The above information is given in good faith and applied at the time of posting. The information is only as good as we receive it.
As it seems that the system has now calmed down and the necessary changes have been made, Voices will publish the requirements in next week’s edition.
