THE BIGGEST live Northern Soul and Motown Dance Night this side of the Aegean has been rescued – thanks to Voices Newspaper.
Voices has stepped in to guarantee the first ever Northern Soul event on Turkish soil in two years – the V50 – goes ahead at the fully air-conditioned Zaya Night Club at The Garden of Sun Hotel, at Third Beach, Didim, on Friday July 25.
V50 was in serious danger of not going ahead due to a doubt over the availability of the original venue for the event. But it is now going ahead at the alternative Garden of Sun venue, and it plans to be a fantastic night for all.
Live singer and DJs
V50 will feature a live performance from Didim soul siren Christine Sayman, a double-header live set from two of the UK’s legendary Northern Soul DJs, Pete Eccles and Brent Howarth.
The event will also feature international DJs and masters of soul, funk and soulful house, Istanbul-based DJ Jeff Bailey and Sinan Sayman.
Doors open at 7.30pm, with Christine performing her set at 8pm. The club will open till late
Tickets
Voices Newspaper has also re-negotiated a fantastic deal for readers, with pre-ordered tickets available at just 30TL (£8.50). Otherwise, it will be 40TL (£11.40) on the door on the night.
Tickets will be on sale exclusively from Voices Newspaper’s office on Ataturk Boulevard, which is next door to Vestel and opposite Sobe Bar.
Alternatively, call 0505 851 1943 to reserve your tickets or via email: info@voicesnewspaper.com
V50 will be the culmination of a week of Northern Soul events being organised by Christine Sayman, mainly and exclusively for guests staying at the Venosa Hotel, at Yesilkent.
Sundowner event
V50 is one of two events that are open to the general public.
The other event will see Siesta Boat hosting a Northern Soul/Motown Sundowner, an evening’s boat trip with the best in Northern Soul/Motown music on Tuesday July 22 from 8pm-11.30pm.
Tickets are priced at 35TL and available from Siesta Boat or by calling 0507 330 8168. There are a limited number of tickets available, so booking is essential.
