Grieving mum donates 25,000TL to hospital

A DIDIM mother whose son died in a road accident has raised 25,000TL and donated the money to be used at the state hospital.

Cennet İlhan, whose son Serhat died in a traffic accident last year, was given a plaque of appreciation for her helping to raise 25,000TL which will go towards the hospital’s dental polyclinic.

The hospital’s chief physician Dr Fatma Aydogan thanked Ms İlhan for the donation.

Beachgoers save life of holidaymaker

A HOLIDAYMAKER from Manisa has been saved after becoming unwell on Didim’s third Beach.

The man collapsed after walking out of the sea and had what appeared to be a choking fit. Quick acting members of the public came to his rescue and also contacted the emergency services.

Beachgoers gave the man heart massage until the ambulance arrived. He was taken to Didim State Hospital and then transferred to Soke Hospital for emergency treatment.

Thieves caught in Hisar

POLICE have arrested three people man over the thefts of money and jewellery from properties in the Hisar district of Didim.

Officers detained one suspect after the theft of cash and jewellery in Sokak 166, while two other suspects were detained late last week after reports of petty thefts in the same district.

As a result, the arrested were taken before Didim court and detained at Soke prison pending further inquiries.
