THE new point man for Akbuk, Zeynel Şenel, has pledged to work hard for residents and ensure that it makes the grade for international and domestic tourists.
Mr Şenel has been appointed the Akbuk neighbourhood district manager by Didim Council as part of the recent local government shake-up.
And he pledged that, within the constraints of the staff and budgets he has, he will be seeking to enhance the cleanliness of the area with streets and alleys being sprayed, garbage trucks collecting rubbish on a daily basis, and road works completed.
He indicated that solutions would be sought on the septic discharges presently being experienced in some areas of Akbuk.
Landscape works and planting would also be high on the agenda.
It was indicated in the local Turkish press that he would be willing to meet Akbuk residents on a weekly basis, possibly every Tuesday, to assess the issues and find potential solutions to problems they are experiencing.
