CONCERNS that the Didim Adnan Menderes University Vocational College is in doubt have been alleviated, local media has reported.
There are rumours that the college at Fevzi Pasa, is under threat of closure from the Ministry of Education which is assessing colleges’ Turkey-wide. The rumour arose due to the lease agreement being up for re-negotiation and possible termination.
However, the issue was taken up by an AKP MP from Aydin and after talks with Ministry of Education officials, learnt that Didim’s college will continue for the foreseeable future
Didim Mayor Deniz Atabay said he had held meetings with the university’s directorate and emphasized the importance of the university to remain in operation in Didim.
The university mainly caters for the tourism, travel and hospitality sectors and has been opened for about 10 years.
