AN OFF duty traffic police officer on holiday with his family was stabbed four times following an altercation on Altinkum’s promenade.

Details remain sketchy but an argument blew up while the man, with his wife and twin daughters was in a bar on Yali Avenue last weekend.

The incident occurred the evening when there were hundreds of tourists, domestic and foreign, around on the Avenue.

The officer, who suffered stab wounds to his arm, leg and back, was taken to Didim State Hospital for treatment.

Police said four people had been detained for questioning in relation to the incident.
