THE first ever balloon fiesta, featuring more than 100 hot air balloons from many different countries, is to be launched next month in Izmir.

The fiesta is a huge international gathering with more than balloon clubs from about 50 countries arriving for the September 09-September 17 event.

Apart from the stunt and competition flyings of the hot air balloon flights, this festival will be full of other flight shows, social, sport and artistic activities.

The concept of the festival has been decided as “Friendship, Peace and Tolerance” and it will consolidate the senses of friendship, peace, tolerance and will integrate all of our participants and visitors.

The fiesta is being organized under the coordinatorship of Bilge Ezel, the first balloon pilot of Turkey and who started Balloon Tourism in Cappadocia.

The festival is planned for Izmir’s Kordon and Selcuk/Ephesus districts. There will also be flights at the following regions: Izmir coast (Kordon), Selcuk, Ephesus, Bergama, Torbalı and Inciraltı regions.
