A BRITISH man endured the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise money for a locally-nominated charity.
Roger Rosier (66), who is on holiday with his wife Jill, took up a nomination of friend Stephen Johnson for the Ice Bucket Challenge which has gone viral on the web.
The initial challenge originated in America, seeking to raise funds and awareness of the disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
Roger, from Northampton, opted to take the Ice Bucket Challenge in the gardens of Muco Restaurant, just off Ataturk Boulevard, on Thursday afternoon.
He offered to raise money from the event for the Help-in-Hands group which raises money for underprivileged and disabled residents.
Roger, who with his wife has an apartment off Ege Road, was watched by friends and expats Martin and Hazel Wood, from Mesut sitesi, as well as Muco staff.
After a thorough soaking, Roger said: “It was quite refreshing actually to have all this ice poured over me. Just when I thought it had stopped, another load came down on me. But, at least it was all for a good cause.”
