MAVISEHIR has come the microscope of both Didim Mayor Deniz Atabay and Aydin highway officers in recent days.

Mr Atabay had a meeting with traders of Mavisehir Market and there was a frank exchange of ideas and suggestions in how to improve the area and the shopping experience for tourists and locals alike.

The mayor said that a number of improvements will be looked at, while tradesmen inevitably raised the knock-on effects of rent on their pitches.

Mr Atabay said there would be improvements before the new season in 2015.

And in light of a recent road death in Mavisehir and a resultant protect from locals calling for safety measures, Aydin Highways officials came to see for themselves the roads in the area.

Highway engineers were joined by Didim’s councilors and officers in assessing the junction in front of the main Mavisehir bus garage on the main road.

Mr Atabay had called for better lighting and pavements to help improve the safety of pedestrians and road users alike.
