PALM trees across the resort are still under stack from the voracious Red Palm Beetle.

Salih Bankoğlu, Didim’s deputy mayor, said efforts were ongoing to eradicate the Red Palm Beetle – but problems were not only being experienced in Didim, but also in Kusadasi and other parts of the Aegean region.

He said the council’s agriculture department officials were trying to contain the beetle as they best could and the battle would continue on throughout the winter.
