Suspected ‘grave robbers’ detained in Akyenikoy

FIVE people suspected of grave robbing have been arrested by Gendarme officials in Kırkiç district of Akyeniköy.

Gendarme teams acting on a tip off visited an olive grove close to Akyeniköy and nearby found a group allegedly carrying out illegal excavations for ancient graves.

An imaging device used to make ground surveys as well as other equipment and an unlicensed shotgun were seized and the group detained for questioning.

Didimspor wins 3-0

DIDIM SPOR kept up their undefeated run this season with a 3-0 win at the weekend.

In beating Sindirgi Belediyespor, they have now advanced to fourth in the division and still six points behind early pacesetters Atillaspor.

Didim are away this Sunday to Karabiga.

Didim features at World Trade Market

A STAND at the world’s largest trade fair advocated the great aspects of Didim.

The World Trade Market hled in London between November 3 and 6 saw travel agents from across the UK and further afield visiting the exhibition stand.

Didim’s stand was featured among the many Turkish travel delights.
