One person has died and another five injured in a building collapse this morning on Altinkum sea front.

It has been reported that six council workers were engaged in demolition work as part of the Altinkum seafront improvements when the incident occurred mid-morning.

It is understood that one person died and five were injured. The Didim AKUT emergency rescue team, along with emergency services, responded to the incident.

The dead man has been named as married 33-year-old Levent Bakay. He had just celebrated the birth of his third child.

The injured are reported to have been named as Raşit Yıldırım, Müslüm Karabulut, Bahattin Tokmak, Ahmet Zengin and Hacı Darıcı
