DIDIM Help-in-Hands volunteers have been extremely busy as well as looking forward to their summer season extravaganza.

Tickets for their big  social event of the season, ‘The H-I-H Summer Bash’ are now available,.

It will be held at Meandros Village Restaurant, on Adnan Menderes Bulvari (Marina Rd), on Thursday August 27. Tickets are 30TL each,

It will be a great night out in the open air in lovely surroundings, wit good food, live music, good raffle prizes and all compered by ex-world boxing champion John H. Stracey.

Belt

Meanwhile, the group has also bought an Upsee Belt deigned to give disabled children more freedom of movement.

In June, the group presented two disabled children with wheelchairs/pushchairs thanks to the customers at Casper’s Bar on Adnan Menderes Bulvari (Marina Road). Both Help-in-Hands and the parents of the children were most grateful for their support. 

Doctors at the hospital thought one of the children, Gulumsu Suvori may have some feeling in her legs, so the group agreed to purchase, once again with the help of Casper’s an Upsee Belt from Ireland.

The belt fits around the parent’s waist and has a harness, very much like a life jacket attached to the front of the belt. The child is strapped into the harness and there are velcro sandal type shoes molded together.

The child’s feet are placed in one shoe and the adults in the other, giving the child the ability to stand and walk with their parents. It’s hoped to give Gulumsu a new sense of freedom.

Sunday table top

There will be a table top sale at The Queen’s Head, near Tuntas Hotel, today (Sunday) from 11am-3pm. Usual 2TL bargains plus a few almost-new items and children’s items in very good condition.
