TWO suspects have been detained by Gendarme officers after an attempted break-in at a villa in Akbuk.

The two men were caught in woods after fleeing on foot from the villa in the town over the weekend, allegedly leaving  their vehicle behind.

Locals raised the alarm when they heard the break-in at the villa nearby. The Gendarme rushed to the scene and the two suspects fled attempting hide in a local wood.

Gendarme officials discovered the men’s car which contained a blank cartridge pistol, iron cutting scissors, a black coat and seized a pair of gloves.

As a result of searches made ​​in the direction of escape, the suspects were caught and later Didim Court ordered the suspects be arrested and detained at Soke Prison while criminal inqiries continue
