THE Didim Syrian Box Appeal has been given a major boost thanks to the kind-heartedness of a British woman.
Cheryl Wilson, from Aylesbury, in Buckinghamshire, who used to live in Turkey, planned to visit Didim to see a friend when she heard of the local appeal, backed by Voices.
Through a local charity contact on facebook, Ahtiq Raja, Cheryl was given £182 and when she arrived in the resort, she bought baby food, aid and new shoes for the Syrian children having heard about the appeal in Didim.
She dropped into Voices with the many items she bought and Voices was happy to take them to the central collection point at Lale Yapi where they will be distributed shortly to refugees.
She said: “I think the appeal is a great idea and I just wanted to be able to help in some way. I’d just like to thank everyone who supported us.”
