DIDIM Mayor Deniz Atabay cut across a number of topics at his weekly press briefing – from storm drains in Hunters Valley to the new animal shelter plans.
First off he gave an update on the storm drainage through Avcılar Çukurundan (Hunter’s Valley). Work continues throughout and he doesn’t foresee any hold ups as the winter work continues.
Landscaping, planting and paving throughout the town will get underway once the worst of the winter is over.
Plans underway for a 250 meters long pipeline to draw off rainwater from the town’s industrial estate.
Akköy and Akyenikoy: “We have painted the buildings. We fix the roads, add wildflowers. Our municipal real estate chief is mapping and recording land rights.”
Dalyan Junction: Camel wrestling on December 13.
Complaints had been received about the junction at the Uslu sitesi and the Akbük road. A study is underway looking at addressing lighting and signage in that area.
New animal shelter: The construction of the new shelter is scheduled for January 2016.
Altinkum Peace Cafe: In response to a question regarding the quality of service there, he said that self-service will end.
He reiterated that 450,000 square meters of road works have been carried out across the municipality.
