Didim tourism chiefs hit Stuttgart

A DELEGATION of Didim tourism officials have been meeting with industry-related agents and companies to promote the resort in Stuttgart this week…

The eight-day Germany CMT Tourism Fair was attended by members of the Didim Tourism Infrastructure Service Association (DİTAB).

A DİTAB spokesperson said the fair drew in 250,000 and had give the Didim officials a great opportunity to pass on information about the town and assess issues affecting Turkey and the perception of potential holidaymakers.

Wanted man detained in Didim

DIDIM police have detained a man wanted for a number of suspected crimes.

The man, aged 28, was questioned when a vehicle was stopped in Didim city centre. Checks found that he was wanted for questioning in relation to a number of charges ranging from theft, operating under a false identity, assault and terrorist propaganda offenses.

He was arrested and detained at Soke Prison.

New Alevi president voted in

THE new president of the Didim Alevi Cultural Centre and Cem Evi has been announced.

The new chairman after a ballot is Hüseyin Ilhan – the owner of Sky Bar, at Third Beach.

The announcement made at the weekend. He garnered 210 votes compared to the outgoing chairman who received 144 votes.

Mr Ilhan said the centre would continue to work towards unity and solidarity for the country, and the centre would have an ‘open door’ policy for everyone.
