For expats with cars in Turkey, here’s a quick way to discover whether you have clocked up any fines or outstanding car tax along the way.

First click on to:

and you will face a form to fill in:

Plaka is Turkish for Number Plate

Özel Plaka. This you can leave blank

T.C. Kimlik Numarası veya Vergi Kimlik Numarası: Here you can enter your foreign ID number/kimlik number. This you can normally find on your Residence Permit.

Tescil Tarihi (Registration date): Date of the vehicle’s registration. This you can find in the vehicle’s blue log book.

Once these details are filled in, click and you will find out what car tax or fines are outstanding.

On the toolbar (as seen in the above) you can then click on the topics to find out more about historic car fines and car tax paid.

Mukellef Bilgileri: These gives the information about your vehicle.

Motorlu Tasitlar Vergisi: This provides info about outstanding car tax and when they should be paid

Ceza Bilgileri: These shows any fines outstanding on the vehicle

Tahsilatlar: Provides a full round down of fines and tax paid on the vehicle

Beyanli Trafik Cezasi Odeme: This enables you to pay vehicle tax and fines by credit card.
