ONE of the first beach weddings of the 2016 tourism season in Altinkum took place on Thursday with British couple David and Kelli Angliss tying the knot.
The couple, from Billericay, Essex, enjoyed the wedding on Main Beach before they, their family and friends enjoyed a reception at Topkapi Restaurant.
David (28), originally from Southend-on-Sea, and Kelli (28), from Canvey Island, have been together for 11 years and originally met through close friends.
The couple said it was their first experience of Turkey, and had decided to combine the break with their actual wedding. Below are scenes from the wedding day
Kelli’s mum and dad Kevin and Anita Jones were instrumental in helping to organise the wedding through the Altinkum-based Lets Group.
David, a retail supervisor, and Kelli, a budding sci-fi author, are staying in Palm Wings Hotel, said: “We got engaged in February and decided that it would a great idea to get married here as well. And to do it on the beach is a dream come true.
“We have been friends for so long and the wedding just felt right and natural. But Turkey is a beautiful country and we are really enjoying ourselves. Lets Group have been fantastic and making everything go smoothly.”
Kelli’s maid of honour was her best friend Jodie Nell.
