THE winter long works on a part of Altinkum are now complete – and tourists and expats will certainly it in a different light.
Didim Council has launched a major campaign to get several parts of the tourism areas of the resort looking a lot better – with last year’s redevelopment of the waterfront the most striking.
This year the council turned its attentions to a number of side streets close to Dolphin Square, the hols areas behind the Horizon Hotel and other streets linking in all to the area.
One high profile part that has given new life is the street area opposite Dolphin Square and to the side of the Taxi Rank and ATMs.
The streets 422 and 423 have been block-paved, some of the buildings demolished while others have received a new link of paint in blue and white.
Didim Mayor Deniz Atabay said: “We have tried our best to make the area look as pleasing as possible to tourists and residents, and I think we are getting there slowly.
“A few months ago we started the project and we quickly completing various parts of it before the season gets going. We expect to complete our work soon.”
