THE first of Siesta’s Ladies Days this year proved to be a big success with nearly 60 women enjoying a day of sun, sea and sangria aboard this popular boat.
The Sangria, a cocktail famous in Spain, had all gone by lunchtime, so some more was made to make the ladies happy, which also ran out quite quickly!
There were games on board, with prizes, and a surprise at one of the last bays when a local male belly dancer came aboard and performed for the ladies. His belly dancing skills were better than any seen in these parts! He was a huge success and I think Siesta will be seeing more of him.

There were also two birthdays celebrated aboard with cakes for two local ladies who are regular customers of Siesta – Kay Evers Dickersoy and Sue Huckle.
Everyone agreed the day was a great success, and due to popular demand Ladies Day will be held monthly, and a provisional date of Monday July 4 for the next one.
It is advisable to book tickets well in advance via Siesta Boat Altinkum facebook page, or come along to boat any evening. The date will be confirmed soon.
Siesta is sailing most days now, and sun beds are bookable in advance in sun or shade. With this year’s new refurbishment, there are now 18 sun beds in the shade for customer’s comfort, with still majority in the sun.
Chilled vibe
Siesta is noted for hosting special occasions – including birthdays, wedding anniversaries, etc.
Siesta is a chilled out boat playing quiet background music, is very family orientated, and has easy access via stairs into the sea. Bar prices are reasonable, and Strawberry and apple cider, is sold alongside Efes and Tuborg, a large range of soft drinks and crisps, and fully stocked spirits bar. Nescafé and PG tips always available on board.
The popular volleyball has just started again and is also played at one of the shallower bays, weather permitting.
A day out is still only £10 or 40tl to include Siesta’s delicious hot meal of barbecue chicken, tomato pasta, salad, and fresh bread. Sailing daily from 10.30 – 4.30. There will also be Sunset Trips every Saturday evening starting shortly.
