DIDIM Marina is to host a three day festival later this month to help raise much-needed funds for local school tennis courts.
The exhibition is being hosted by the marina management and will see the best of art from Didim Art Club, headed by local resident Pat Flint, and her members, as well as art from students from two local schools.
The exhibition will be hosted on Friday July 29 to Sunday July 31. The art, across all mediums, will be based on a ‘marine’ theme.
The festival will also include three artists in residence, demonstrating sculpturing, stone paintings and watercolours.
Proceeds from the exhibition will go towards funding tennis courts for local schools under Didim Help-in-Hands ‘Sports for Kids’ project
The Didim Help in Hands’ Sports for Kids project which seeks to provide sports equipment for schools across the resort.
The group has mainly helped to provide wheelchairs and aids for the local disabled community.
The exhibition will be on from 2pm to 8am, and the artists will be in residence from 4pm-6pm.
Pat said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to show the art club to a completely different audience and give the members great confidence in their art work. We are all really excited by this festival which we hope the expatriate community will support greatly.”
