THE first oils to be obtained from Didim Municipality Medicinal Aromatic and Ornamental Plant Production line have been struck.
A publicity tour was organized for the plant where the aromatic plants grown in the field were obtained and then pressed for aromatic oils. These will in turn be used for promotional aspects.
Didim Mayor Deniz Atabay introduced the products at the factory which was inspired a factory located in the Tuzburgazı borders of Zekeriye Temizel, where medical aromatic oils were obtained.
President Atabay visited the fields where the oil of the medical aromatic products were obtained and informed the press members about how to obtain the mint oil.
Emine Özuysal, Board Manager and Food Engineer Ali Toprak , Chairman Atabay’a Tabia firm board member, and Ahmet Akaya, chemist, accompanied the municipality staff.
Factory Manager and Food Engineer Ali Toprak started to work on the social responsibility project which can be shown as an example in Turkey, starting with mint, followed by thyme and lavender, and stated that various oils were obtained at the factory and that they worked together with Didim Municipality for 2 years .
“We started with the first harvest of oregano this year and we will start with lavender and thyme in August and we will continue our collaboration.”
Mr Atabay said: “We set up the greenhouses to produce aromatic plants. This is a social responsibility project and we aim to use these oils as part of plans to make Didim a brand name. We will sell them with the brand of Didyma and will contribute to the promotion of this region.”
