UK EXPATS are no longer the biggest group of foreign nationals living in Aydin Country, newly released figures show.
There were just 1,524 UK residents living in Aydin, which includes Didim and Kusadasi, in 2017 – compared to 1,851 residents in 2016 – a fall of 327.
In total, there are now 7,317 foreign nationals living in Aydin, with 1,873 Germans (first) the largest group followed by 1,524 UK residents and, thirdly, 460 citizens from Azerbaijan.
In Turkey, there are now 919,061 foreign nationals living in the country, made up of 468 618 women and 450 443 men. In Aydin, the foreign population comprises 4,287 women and 3,030 men.
As can be seen in the above table (right), the number of UK expats doesn’t even get into the top ten of foreign nationals living in Turkey.
The statistics were based on foreigners with a residence/work permit for at least three months.
In 2016, the Aydin province had 1,851 British; 434 Germans; 269 Azerbaijan; 176 Dutch; 160 Iranians; 152 Belgians, 146 Russian, 126 Kyrgyz and 85 Syrian citizens.
