THE restoration of the former Greek house that will be turned into a town museum is within weeks of finishing.
A date, originally slated for September 18 for the completion of the museum, has now been put back until the internal works of the museum have been finished.
The house will focus on the 95-year history of the Greeks that were displaced by the Population Exchange in 1923 following the War of Independence.
Work on the two-storey ‘Exchange House’, close to Apollon Temple, began earlier this year.
The project has been organised by the municipality of Didim and the contractor company has reached the final stages of completing the building.
It is hoped the museum will be ready for the 2019 tourism season.
