On March 10-11-12, the first of Didim Medusa Mini Tango Festival will be held with the support of private entrepreneurs.
Cem Beşe, owner of Olivia Restaurant in Apollon, and Alev Deniz, a culture and art entrepreneur, came together to create a centre for artistic activities in Didim.
Alev Deniz, who has a culture and art academy in Istanbul, has sought to live in smaller places during the pandemic. After visiting the Aegean region, she decided to live in Didim and carry her artistic activities here.
Alev said, “I saw a need for an art centre in Didim. After meeting Olivia’s owner, Cem, we realized we have a common passion, tango. Thus, we wanted to turn Olivia into an art centre where tango lessons are held as well as various workshops, art exhibitions, concerts and recitals.”
Alev announced that they will hold the first Didim Medusa Mini Tango Festival at Olivia Restaurant next week on March 10-11-12.
Stating that they are open to participants of all ages, Alev said: “Our 4 tango teachers and dance partners will give information about tango and practice with the participants. After the classes, Milonga night will be held at 21.00 on Friday and Saturday,” she added.
Excited for the first mini tango festival to be held in the Aegean region, Alev and Cem want to make Olivia an art centre known for both tango and other arts in the upcoming period.
