When the fall season arrives, I start to get excited about how I will organize my winter garden. I wanted to share with you the ideas I thought for my winter garden and remind you of what we should pay attention to when designing one.

Let’s start with the steps that need to be taken from the very beginning, considering that you do not currently have a closed area. First, decide which balcony or terrace of your house you want to turn into a winter garden.

If possible, choose a sunny location will allow you to have a warmer and brighter garden in winter. The choice of material (wrought iron, mica, glass, nylon, steel, wood) you will use has a great place in determining the model.

Make sure that the cost and design are affordable and balanced. The types of materials you choose should be easy to clean, practical and durable.

The construction system to be used during application ensures that the garden is longer-lasting and more durable.

Make sure that the glass you will use to cover your winter garden is foldable (can be opened and closed). Foldable glass; It protects your plants from the cold in winter and cools them in the heat of summer.

The furniture you will use in the garden should reflect a real garden atmosphere. For this reason, you can choose natural colours and wooden pieces.

Cushions, accessories and sculptures create a more livable garden environment by adding dynamism to your winter garden.

Lighting is also very important in winter gardens. Until now, I have preferred to use large lampshades with chubby forms and dominant colours. I liked the domestic atmosphere it added to my winter garden.

However, this year I decided to change the atmosphere of my garden by using a pedestal lighting that resembles old-style street lamps. I will choose to use benches used in parks to reinforce the “street” feeling.

Now we come to plants, which are an integral part of winter gardens. Start by choosing plants that will withstand the likely temperatures of your conservatory when you use it.

Choose plants and house trees of mixed sizes instead of plants of the same size. This way, you add dynamism to the space. This also makes it easier to achieve a natural garden look.

I hope you all have a peaceful time in your winter garden.
