Aydın export market was worth $88.9 million in September, with Italy the biggest customer, statistics have revealed.
Gökhan Maraş, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Industry in Aydın, one of the important industrial and commercial centers of the Aegean, made an evaluation about the city’s export data.
Stating that exports in Aydın in September 2023 decreased by 3.7 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, Maraş stated that Aydın ranked 22nd among the provinces with the highest exports.
Maraş said: “Our city’s exports in September 2023 decreased to $88.9 million. While our exports in the last 12 months decreased by 4.5 percent to $1 billion 145 million, our imports in the last 12 months increased by 23.4 percent to 603.8 million.
“In our province, which had a foreign trade surplus of $39.3 million in September. Among the provinces with the highest exports, Aydın ranked 22nd and 24th in imports,” he said.
Stating that the country to which Aydın exports the most is Italy with $13.1 million, Maraş noted that Italy is followed by Spain with $10.1m, the USA with $7.7m and Germany with $4.5m.
Maraş added that among 25 different sectors in Aydın in September, the food products and beverage sector was the leading sector by exporting the most with $25m.
