Bahri Aşık, a 40-year-old headman and journalist who died in the hospital where he was receiving treatment, was sent off to his final journey in tears at a funeral ceremony.
The body of Didim’s Hisar Neighborhood Headman, Bahri Aşık, was brought to the front of the Mukhtar’s service building where he worked, prayers were offered and forgiveness was received.
After receiving forgiveness from the neighborhood residents’ relatives and journalist friends, Aşık’s body was brought to Didim Central Mosque.
The funeral of Aşık, who had served the district which encompasses the Temple of Apollo for four decades, was attended by Didim District Governor Can Kazım Kuruca, Didim Mayor Deniz Atabay, Deputy Mayors, Didim Garrison Commander Ali Saçan, Chamber presidents, political party district representatives, NGO representatives, and headmen of the central and rural neighborhoods serving in Didim district. Members of the press, Aşık’s family and relatives and many citizens also attended.
After the funeral prayer was performed by District Mufti Hasan Hüseyin Susam, halal prayers were received in the mosque. All citizens who attended the funeral prayer gave their rights. Mukhtar and Journalist Bahri Aşık’s body was later buried in Didim Asri cemetery.
