Turkey has secured its position as the 5th most favoured global destination for plastic surgeries, attracting patients, notably from Germany, England, and Switzerland.

Dr. Demirdöver, President of the Turkish Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Association, stated: “Patients choose Turkey for quality procedures at affordable rates.”

Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19, Turkey sustained its position in 2022 by performing over a million aesthetic surgeries, including liposuction and breast enlargement during tourist seasons, while tummy tucks or breast reductions are more prevalent in the winter months.

Dr. Demiröver said: “The most important factor in choosing Turkey is that they know that we have quality plastic surgeons. Secondly, they know that our hotel services are at a high level, it is not possible for them to find hotels of this quality at similar prices in Europe.

“Thirdly, there is an exchange rate advantage. They prefer Turkey to be operated on by quality doctors and at more affordable prices.”

To ensure sustained success in health tourism, initiatives are in place to direct patients to qualified professionals through a dedicated website.

In collaboration with the British Association of Plastic Surgeons, efforts are ongoing to guide British citizens to trustworthy healthcare facilities in Turkey, addressing concerns about unqualified practitioners offering aesthetic procedures.
