BIM Comes To Sagtur

Update

Sagtur has become the latest destination for supermarket chain BIM.

The new store officially opened on Thursday (13th June) at 10am. It has 580 square metres of retail space, making it one of the largest stores in the area. It carries all the products you’d expect from BIM plus a fresh bakery and a small coffee area.

Queues formed several hours before the official opening, even in the intense heat we’re all now experiencing. Staff gave out water, juice, and cakes to those in the queue to ensure nobody suffered in the heat. Common sense also prevailed as the doors opened slightly early to ease the pressure of the crowds building up. A very sensible and clever move by BIM.

Prices have been slashed to mark the opening, so it was no surprise to see people stocking up their trolleys. The price drop will last until the weekend.

Local residents are thrilled with the new addition. “We do not have a huge amount of facilities in Sagtur. This new BIM will make a huge difference, as we won’t need to get on the Dolmus every time we need to go shopping,” said one.
