A new Didim-Turgutreis-Bodrum ferry service will be officially launched today (Mon July 1) before going into full operation tomorrow (Tues July 2).

Aydın Metropolitan Municipality, in cooperation with Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, will launch the service to mark Cabotage Day – an annual celebration related to merchant marine rights of Turkey.

The first of the sea trips between Aydın and Muğla will be carried out on Monday, July 1 at 14:00 from Didim D-Marin Passenger Pier.

From Tuesday (July 2), the trips will run every day from Didim at 07:20, 10:20 and 17:00, and from Bodrum at 12:45 and 18:45.

Aydin Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu said: “We are starting our sea bus voyages that will make a significant contribution to regional tourism. We wholeheartedly believe in the necessity of using our seas more efficiently.

“Our voyages will be organized every day for everyone who wants to use sea transportation.”

Transportation time between tourism centers will be shortened considerably with the trips to be carried out by sea buses with a capacity of 440 people from Didim D-Marin Passenger Pier.

The 140-kilometer transportation between Didim and Bodrum Turgutreis, which can take up to 3 hours by road, especially in the summer months, will be reduced in 1 hour.
