Didim residents want police to take measures against car and motorcycle drivers who speed and make excessive noise on the roads.
In every neighborhood of Didim, a signature campaign was launched under the leadership of shopkeepers, and thousands of signatures collected were given to the Didim District Governorate.
In the petition given to the District Governorate, it was stated as follows: “Drivers who disturb thousands of people and endanger people’s lives with their car and motorcycle exhausts that make excessive speed and noise day and night are harming our district.
“Some motorcycle drivers make such loud exhaust noise that car alarms go off and people jump out of their sleep. People crossing the street and walking on the sidewalk have no life safety and our guests staying in hotels have come to the point of leaving the hotels.
“With the opening of the tourism season in the coming days, hundreds of thousands of people will start coming to our town for vacation. We ask the Didim district traffic bureau to take measures against these people who cause inconvenience to all of us.”
