Didim’s renowned Zeytinseli brand, which has been participating in national and international table olive and olive oil quality competitions, has reaped another eight awards in 2024.
Founded and branded by retired Notary Bekir İşlek, Zeytinseli Zeytincilik has been operating in the Akköy neighborhood of Didim since 2007. Following the eight awards this year, the brand has won 46 awards in total.
İşlek, while starting olive cultivation, made research and observation trips to olive and olive oil producing countries such as Italy, Morocco and Tunisia. He also held various meetings with sectoral associations, institutions and producers in the country and exchanged ideas.
As a result of all these processes, he established the quality production principles of Zeytinseli.
Zeytinseli, which mainly produces organic olive oil, was awarded the BEST OLIVE OIL OF TURKEY ( Best Organic Olive Oil of Turkey) award at the BIOL XXVI. INTERNATIONAL PRIZE organic olive oil quality competition held in Italy in 2021.
It applied to be included in the FLOS OLEI a guide to the world of extra virgin olive oil album, which is also published in Italy and determines the world’s best 500 brands, in 2016, 2017 and 2020, and was selected as one of the world’s best 500 brands in these years.
It has brought 54 awards to Didim to date in different competitions every year, including Zeytindostu, Oliveistanbul, Anatolia, and abroad in Japan, the USA, England, Germany, and Italy.
Zeytinseli has been exporting table olives and olive oil to various countries, especially America, Germany and Romania, since 2015.
In addition to providing the necessary services in the production, product supply and packaging processes that manufacturers need in their branding processes, it also shares all its knowledge and experience.
Zeytinseli believes that Didim olive products can receive the best awards in all competitions held in the world if they are properly pickled or turned into oil.
İşlek has also produced a book called Zeytini Meltemler Sular in Didim, in which he tells the story of his olive growing adventure.
