Glamorous biker and influencer MotoTanya has been killed in a horrific crash on the Soke-Milas highway.
Russian Tatyana Ozolina had more than eight million followers across her social media outlets.
It emerged that an accident occurred on the highway this week in which a one was killed and another was seriously injured. Famous Russian youTuber and motorcycle vlogger, named Tatyana, aged 38, was named as the motorcyclist that died.
With 5 million followers on TikTok, 2 million on YouTube and 1 million on Instagram, Tatyana shared her passion for motorcycles and adventures with a wide audience. Her accident during a tour in Turkey caused great sadness among her followers and fans.
Reports said she died when she apparently “lost control” of her red BMW S1000RR 2015 and collided with a truck near Milas. A Turkish biker accompanying her, Onur Obut, survived but suffered serious injuries and is in hospital. A third biker was uninjured.
Known as MotoTanya, Ozolina died at the scene of the crash before paramedics arrived. She was dubbed Russia’s “most beautiful biker”. Ozolina won the title of Motoblogger of the Year in 2023 and Travel Blogger of the Year in April this year, by the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter.
She recently spoke of being refused entry into the European Union at the Greek border for a summer tour amid curbs on Russians over the war in Ukraine. She posted: “I was upset that I didn’t get to ride in Europe, but not too much, because I knew that this could happen. So I go on, to conquer the beautiful, warm and hospitable Turkey.”
In a tribute, Andrei Ivanov, head of the MotoMoscow Association, said: “MotoTanya is not with us anymore…she had a bright and beautiful life.… Millions of people followed her. Perhaps there is not a single motorcyclist in the country who was indifferent to Tatyana.
“She was adored, envied, admired, copied, awarded as a top blogger and, at the same time, discussed and slandered. Now all that remains is her memory. Sleep well.”
The cause of the accident is under police investigation.
