99 migrants caught on a 17-metre sailboat

In Didim, 99 irregular migrants were caught on a sailing boat following an intervention by the Coast Guard Command.

A team was dispatched to an area upon detection of a group of irregular migrants on a sailing boat off the coast of the district. The teams intercepted 99 irregular migrants, including 34 children on board.

The irregular migrants were sent to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management for processing, while two suspected migrant smugglers were detained by gendarmerie teams.

Fire in Yeşiltepe caused fear

A fire that broke out in Yeşiltepe Sitesi last Wednesday caused fear.

The fire broke out in a scrubland area on the site. The fire, which was allegedly caused by electric wires rubbing against each other, grew in a short time. The municipal fire brigade and the Regional Directorate of Forestry teams intervened quickly. The flames were brought under control without spreading to the houses.

110 kilos of smuggled tobacco seized in Didim

In an operation conducted by Didim KOM Bureau teams to prevent smuggling crimes, 110 kilos of shredded tobacco was seized.

The teams recovered 22,600 pieces of tobacco-filled cigarettes, 110 kilos of shredded tobacco, four cigarette-filling machines and five air compressors. One person was detained.

8,576 tourists arrived in Kusadasi with 3 cruises

Kuşadası, where cruise activity continues, received 8,576 tourists with 3 cruises. The Aegean Port Harbour hosted Bahamian flagged ‘Norwegian Gateway’ and ‘Evrima’ and Panama flagged ‘MSC Splendida’ ships.

Divers recover 83 kilograms of waste from seabed

The 12th stage of the seabed cleaning organised by Bodrum Municipality with the slogan ‘Blue suits the sea the most’ was held on Güvercinlik beach.

Bodrum Municipality Support Services and Cleaning Affairs Directorate organised the event, which was carried out by a volunteer diving team, with the participation of the relevant department managers and staff and Güvercinlik Neighbourhood Headman.

A total of 83 kilograms of waste was removed from the seabed and then exhibited in front of Güvercinlik Municipality Café before being taken to the waste centre for recycling.
