Competing in the TVF 2nd League, Didimspor Volleyball team has introduced its new technical staff and signed nine names with which it agreed on domestic and international transfers.
Didimspor Club President Deniz Polat, Vice President Özkan Caymaz and Head Coach Yücel Sevindi, technical staff and athletes attended the signing ceremony held in a cafe in Altınkum.
Speaking before the signing ceremony, Club President Deniz Polat said that there was a merger between Didimspor Volleyball team and Didim Arena Spor, which operates in the district, and that they brought them together under one roof.
Polat noted that they established a partnership with Hakan Koşar and Serhat Pekel, who work at Didim Arena Spor, and that the two names will take part in the team’s technical board.
Polat stated that they will raise children who will serve the volleyball sport in Didim and said, “This is the right thing for Didim. We have come together under one roof. I would like to thank Hakan and Serhat for their approach. Our priority is to raise children who live in Didim and will serve this sport in Didim and to be able to send them to big teams from here.
“We really want at least one player at the A team level, at the second place level, to play in the A team this year. This year there will be two, next year there will be three. In this way, the continuity of this team with the children of here will find a place for itself on a solid platform.”
Polat stated that the fixtures will be drawn and they will compete in the 7th Group and said, “We are in the 7th group as the Aydın region. Our fixtures will be drawn. We will most likely be in a league where 7 or 8 teams will participate. The league was really our first year last year, but this year, we will not make the mistakes we made last year and we will start the league with a better team and a team that will really force the group.”
Polat signed contracts with Head Coach Yücel Sevindi, who has been coaching the team since last year, Assistant Head Coach Hakan Koşar and Infrastructure Manager Serhat Pekel.
Didimspor confirmed contracts with team captain Gamze Taş, Dilek Ceylin İşbay, Kumsal Kendir, Pembe Özcanbaz, Ece Nur Özden and Irmak Aydoğan, who were on the team last year.
Kübra Biçer and Kübra Çalışkan from the Söke Volleyball team and Eda Ebeoğlu from Akhisar Belediyespor were also signed. It was learned that the Yellow-Navy Blue team, which signed 9 names in the internal and external transfers, will continue its transfer activities.
The fixtures have since been announced for the 2024-2025 Volleyball Season. Didimspor will be in Group 7 and will face Aydın B.Şehir Bld, Gencelli İdman yurdu, Koçarlı Bld, Söke Bld Saldos Volleyball, Denizli B.Şehir Bld, Uğurspor, Akhisarspor Bldspor, Akhisargücü, Ata Okulspor, Manisa B.şehir bld and Turgutlu Bld Culture and Arts teams.
