The sewer pumping operation in Akbük is set to commence in the first months of 2025, it has been revealed.
Aydın Metropolitan Municipality General Directorate of Water and Sewerage Administration (ASKİ) teams are continuing the construction of the main sewerage collector and pumping station in the town.
Aydın Mayor Özlem Çerçioğlu, together with Republican People’s Party (CHP) Aydın Deputy Evrim Karakoz, examined the construction works at the Akbük sewage collector and pumping station.
Stating that the construction work cost 350 million TL, Mayor Çerçioğlu said: “Currently, 65 percent of the project has been completed. Our goal is to finish this project in January 2025.
“Our aim is to connect Akbuk’s sewerage collector line to Didim. We promised our citizens and we are fulfilling our promise. I would like to thank everyone who contributed in advance.”
Stating that the Akbuk sewage collector and pumping station construction work is a very big project, Karakoz said: ‘Republican People’s Party municipalities do not only do superstructure work, but also infrastructure.
“In this economic crisis of the country, in this difficult situation, Republican People’s Party municipalities continue to work for our future, our youth, for a clean nature, for a clean sea, and for a clean environment.
“For this reason, I would like to thank our Mayor Çerçioğlu, ASKİ General Manager and all the employees as an Aydınite.”
A total of 18.8 kilometres of hdpe polyethylene pipe pumping lines and 42 kilometres of sewerage network lines have been completed. There are 2 loading rooms, 2 main pumping stations and 4 package pumping stations.
Until today, a total of 134 kilometres of sewerage network and 4 wastewater pumping stations have been completed in Akbük.
