The Accessible Café, operated by the Didim and Region Disabled Persons Association (DİYED) in Akbük District, continues to provide service to its growing client base.

The café, which has access to the beach, aims to provide a barrier-free holiday service to disabled individuals.

There is a disabled walking area on the beach reserved specifically for the café, while sun loungers and umbrellas are provided free of charge to disabled individuals and their companions.

In the accessible café, where non-disabled individuals can also go, the total price for sun loungers and umbrellas is 100 TL. The café, which has more affordable prices compared to private beaches, also sells breakfast, hot meals, cold and hot beverages and alcoholic beverages.

Regarding the café run by association members, Association Board Member Oktay Çiftçi stated that they started the season late and said, “We had to open the café late due to the association election.

“Since we opened late, we could not make it to the season and could not complete our deficiencies. In addition to our inventory deficiency, we could not complete the things that needed to be repaired.

“We did our best for our customers during this process. We still made enough money to contribute to our association financially. Since our prices are reasonable, the citizens are happy with our café.

“Disabled individuals who come here are only disturbed by the fact that our beach is a little too stony and lacks sand. Didim Municipality supports and helps us a lot.”
