It’s official – Marmaris is a preferred wedding destination for British couples.

In 2024, 124 of the 500 weddings performed by the Marmaris municipality have been foreign nationals, the majority of whom have been British citizens.

Tourists who come to Marmaris state they are happy because they can celebrate not only weddings but also birthdays and anniversaries more economically.

British nurse Staphaney, who has been coming to Marmaris on holiday with her family since she was 7 years old, stated that she and her boyfriend Martin Smith have started preparations for their wedding ceremony next year.

She said, “I have been coming to Marmaris on holiday with my family for many years. I love Marmaris and we wanted to get married here. We came to meet to organize the event. We are very excited to have both our wedding and our honeymoon here.”
