Didim has always boasted of having the cleanest air to breathe – now it’s official.
Air quality measurements conducted by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change revealed that there were serious differences in air quality between the districts of Aydın.
While Didim was at the top of the list, recording the best air quality, Nazilli drew attention with its air pollution index and finished bottom.
According to the ministry’s data, Didim had the cleanest air in Aydın with an air quality index of 38%.
This was followed by:
Soke: 52%;
Germencik: 54%,
Efeler: 56%
Nazilli was identified as the province’s most polluted district with an air quality index of 72%.
Experts say the high air pollution in Nazilli may be caused by industrial activities, traffic density and heating methods. This situation, which negatively affects the quality of life in the region, also poses serious threats to the health of citizens.
Didim sets an example with its nature and low air pollution rate.
