The heat is on

THE heat continues its lay everyone and everything to waste in Altinkum.

Temperatures are staying consistently around the 40 degree mark and will continue this month.

Beaches from Yesilkent to Third Beach are reportedly jam packed with many looking to catch the sun early from around 8am to 10am before heading under the shade. They then come out again from about 4pm onwards.

The heatwave continues to hit provinces across Turkey, as temperatures steer between five and nine degrees above seasonal averages, the Turkish State Meteorological Service said in a heatwave warning issued July 28.

Both meteorology and health officials are advising people not to go out between 10am and 4pm – times when sunshine is at its strongest.

Priene hosts spiritual gathering

Karen Thorne reflects on a recent gathering of a local spiritual help group

WE set off up the climb to the ruins of Priene early on Wednesday morning in the hopes of avoiding the extreme heat of the day.

We began with a quick grounding session and a chat about how that helps us daily against negative energies. We then followed this with a 30 minute meditation which often brings some interesting results from the individuals taking part.

We then had a guest speaker who gave a talk on his personal experience of Angels who he had interacted with over the years.

After a short picnic break , several members of the group gave healing to those who wanted to receive it.

The whole day was a wonderful experience for all of us. There were only two people in the group that were not in some way already able to use healing or spirit on a daily basis.

Energies were very active and I think surprised some of the group as to how strong they were.

Many of the group have never visited Priene before so it was a pleasant outing for them. Many have said they would like to return again soon.

The area chosen to hold the workshop was shaded and inviting and later in the day we discovered that we had actually chosen the land which was running alongside an area that had once been a healing chapel many thousands of years ago.

We have come up with many interesting ideas for future workshops and will keep readers informed with dates and venues
