Infrastructure issues encountered by residents in Efeler district will be acted on, Didim Mayor Deniz Atabay has assured this week.
A delegation consisting of residents from the Didim Akdeniz Holiday Site, as well as the Ulutaş and Sevdam sites, visited the mayor’s office. They were focused on the sewerage and road problems they were experiencing and conveyed their problems.
Making a press statement in front of the municipality building after the meeting, which lasted about half an hour, Akdeniz Site Management President Alattin Akman stated that infrastructure works will begin in the designated areas as promised by the mayor in September.
Akman said: “As residents of Efeler Mahallesi, Akdeniz Holiday Complex and Ulutaş and Sevdam Site, and neighbours in surrounding villas, we talked to the mayor.
“The purpose of our meeting was about the sewage incidents, the construction of our road and the cleaning of the place. Thankfully, our president helped.
“They said that these issues should be handled by ASKİ and they talked to ASKİ Deputy General Manager Hakan Bey by phone and said that at the end of September, a project and works will begin in September.
“They gave us all the necessary information and we would like to thank the mayor for his time.”
Mr Atabay stated that they had held a constructive meeting with the residents of the neighbourhood: “We met with our General Manager of ASKİ. He gave the good news. Work will begin in that region, as well as in Hisar and Yalıköy neighbourhoods, in September, and we will eliminate the problems of the regions.”
