A ‘Nature-Friendly Didim’ Workshop was held by Didim Municipality.
Delivering the opening speech of the workshop held in Didim, Mayor Deniz Atabay said, “Environmental issues have become very important and vital both in our country and in the whole world.
“Many countries, which we consider developed countries, have not allowed works that are difficult to repair for the environment and nature, considering their people and country. We always leave protecting the environment to someone else. Let’s not let go. “Let’s protect our environment together.”
Mayor Atabay said, “We are all trying to be a tourism professional in Didim, not a business manager. Being a tourism professional means protecting nature, loving animals, loving people, not polluting the environment, and not turning into concrete.
“We are obliged to protect nature in Didim and present it to people with our history here. But the most important thing I personally want to say is that we should not leave protecting the environment and nature to someone else.”
Didim District Governor Can Kazım Kuruca said: “We received this nature, this environment, this country, this beautiful sea as a trust for our children.
“In order not to betray this trust, we must continue to protect our nature and environment together and at the same time continue to prepare the future of the country by following growth policies compatible with this.”
After the speeches, the workshop started. Within the scope of the workshop program, firstly Prof. Dr. Ruşen Keleş gave a speech on “Local Governments and Environmental Protection Policies”. Then Dr. Res. See. Sabriye Ak Kuran gave information about “Environmentally Friendly Tourism and Food Sector Studies” with slides.
Prof. Dr. Özkan Tütüncü discussed the strengths and weaknesses of Didim with the participants in “Search Conference and SWOT Analysis”.
In the second session of the workshop, Dr. Hikmet Kuran presented “Simultaneous Tourism Sector” and Dr. Res. See. Sabriye Ak Kuran presented information on the subject of “Food Sector”.
