While there are 11,209 foreigners officially registered living in Aydin province, only 283 residence permits have been issued in the last five months, statistics revealed this week.

Within the framework of Aydın Provincial Directorate of Migration Management’s data on foreigners under temporary protection and irregular and regular immigrants, foreign citizens from 118 different nations currently reside in Aydın.

The number of foreigners with residence permit, which was 11 thousand 492 according to the data of May 25, 2023, became 11 thousand 209 according to the data of October 19, 2023.

While there was a 2 percent decrease in the number of foreigners who received residence permits in approximately 5 months , a total of 283 foreign citizens obtained their residence permits in Aydın.

There was a decrease of approximately 12 percent in the number of foreign citizens who received residence permits across the country.

While there were 1,303,370 foreign nationals who received residence permits across the country as of May 25, 2023, this figure became 1,136,114 according to data of October 19, 2023. Approximately 1 percent of foreign citizens living throughout the country live in Aydın.

Approximately 45 percent of foreigners are from Europe, approximately 18 percent are from the Asia, 13 percent from the Middle East, 12 percent from Africa, 7 percent from the Americas and 2 percent from Australia.
