With the summer season coming to an end in Didim, Mayor Hatice Gençay issued a warning to holidaymakers urging them not to throw their pets out on the streets when returning home.
After the new laws regarding stray animals came into effect in our country, municipalities have a great responsibility, and Didim Municipality is shown as one of the exemplary districts with its stray animal shelter and rehabilitation center.
While Didim Municipality has set an example with the steps it has taken regarding stray animals, sensitive animal lovers in the district continue to support the work carried out in this regard.
Especially with the increase in the population in the district every year during the summer season, summer house owners are keeping pets in their homes.
Mayor Gençay stated: “Dear Guests, please do not leave your pets on the streets when you return from your summer vacation. Remember that our dear friends need a warm home and constant care. Together, we can protect them and support them to live a healthy and happy life.”
