Söke reaches 7 million kilograms in cotton purchases
Söke Tariş Cotton and Oil Seeds Agricultural Sales Cooperative President İsmail Özer announced that the cooperative has purchased 7 million kilograms of cotton so far.
President Özer stated that they started cotton purchases with a yield price of 56 TL and that their pricing policies are constantly updated according to market conditions. “We opened the purchase season with 56 TL, then increased our prices to 58 TL. As of September 27, we increased our cotton purchase price by 2 TL and continue our purchases with a yield of 60 TL,” he said.
Özer said that cotton prices have also increased with the increase in commodity prices worldwide and that they may reconsider prices in the coming days.
Özer, who stated that 15 percent of the harvest in Söke Plain was completed, noted that a large portion of the cotton still waiting in the field was waiting to be picked. Özer emphasized that they foresaw a 10 to 15 percent decrease in the overall cotton harvest this season.
New blood bank to be established in ADÜ
Construction work has begun for the new blood bank area at Aydın Adnan Menderes University Hospital.
With the opening of the new building, ADÜ Hospital grew by 41 percent, increasing its operating room capacity from 15 to 21. Thanks to this capacity increase, the number of monthly surgeries at the hospital reached 6,000.
This rapid increase in the number of surgeries has also led to an increase in the need for blood and blood products. In line with these developments, work has begun to move the current blood bank to a larger and more modern area.
The new blood bank, the tender for which has been completed, is expected to be put into service at its new location as soon as possible.
Canvases coloured for street animals
Artists of the Colorful Palettes Group put their brushes on canvas for stray animals. A total of 24 works made by the artists were put up for sale. The income will be used for the benefit of stray animals.
Firdevs Posacı leads the Colorful Palettes Group, which consists of people from different professions in Efeler, Aydın. The painters in the group work in many areas such as oil painting and charcoal pencil.
The artists drew street animals on canvas opened an exhibition at the Recep Yazıcıoğlu Cultural Center on October 4th, World Animal Rights Day.
Suspect sentenced to 25 years’ prison caught in Didim
A person wanted with a 25-year prison sentence for drug crimes in Didim district was caught red-handed by gendarmerie teams.
Didim District Gendarmerie Command Gendarmerie Detectives JASAT carried out a coordinated operation to capture a wanted person.
According to the information obtained, the person, who is wanted in 2 separate files for the crimes of trafficking or providing drugs or stimulants and has a final sentence of 25 years and 2 months, was arrested and sent to prison.
