Costs rocket with natural gas for Didim on horizon

Steps to bring natural gas to households in Didim are in their final stages – just as  installation and energy fees sky-rocketed at the start of January.

Didim Municipality announced that the official procedures have been completed and the pipe laying process for natural gas will begin soon.

The issue has been promised for many years to Didim, but it appears that things moving. With many districts of Aydın getting acquainted with natural gas, efforts are underway to introduce it to Didim in 2025.

In this context, Didim Municipality announced said: “In line with the initiatives of our municipality and the demands of our citizens, the expropriation procedures of the areas on the route have been completed for the natural gas infrastructure works to begin by BOTAŞ, and correspondence and other official processes have also been successfully concluded.

“Pipe laying works will begin in a short time. In this context, an intensive work program will be implemented to deliver natural gas to our district in the safest and fastest way.”

 

New rates increase

However, the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) announced the new increase rates for natural gas connection and service fees.

With the decision published in the Official Gazette, natural gas connection and service fees will be increased by rates ranging from 43.65 percent to 77.96 percent.

With the new regulation, the subscriber connection fee increased by 77.96 percent to 6,154 TL, while significant increases in other service items also drew attention.

Examples of some of the fees:

Combi Boiler: 3,035 TL (45.42 percent increase)

Stove and Central System: 2,673 TL (45.66 percent)

Deposit, January: 181 TL (43.65 percent)

Water Heater: 362 TL (43.65 percent)

Meter On/Off Fee: 157 TL (46.72 Percent)

Prepaid Meter Replacement Fee: 1,630 TL (47.11 Percent)

Service Box Removal Cost: 1,384 TL (47.07 Percent)
