Didim Mayor Hatice Gençay has met with several tradesmen from Altinkum’s coastal tourism strip on Yali Street to discuss and exchange information about projects that will shape the future of the region.

Deputy Mayors Aydan Aşık Turgut, Ali Çelik and Kaan Topçuoğulları also attended the meeting held in the Didim Municipality Council Meeting Hall.

One of the most important points of the meeting was directly listening to the demands and expectations of the tradesmen. Mayor Gençay stated that they will closely follow the problems experienced by the tradesmen by addressing the problems and solutions in the region.

The lifeblood of tourism, the Altınkum coast, is one of the places where both locals and tourists spend most of their time throughout the year.

With the arrangements to be made, the aim is for the region to go beyond being just a holiday resort and become a stronger trade center.

Making a statement about the meeting, Mayor Gençay said: “We came together with our tradesmen to discuss the problems they face and the issues awaiting solutions in detail.

“We will continue to work together to make Altınkum a more livable, more vibrant and stronger trade center. We will work with all our might to carry our neighborhood to the point it deserves by protecting the labor and sweat of our tradesmen.”

It is a matter of curiosity what steps Didim Municipality will take in the coming period. In line with the demands of the tradesmen, projects such as infrastructure improvements, coastal arrangements and development of commercial areas are expected to be on the agenda.
