Long-time Sağtur resident Jay Jean Jackson has published her first children’s book, Douc’s Adventures In Mexico, and is now available on Amazon.

The book follows the innocent-minded Douc, a monkey, as he tries to find his way home. He meets many characters on his journey, including his new best friend, the mischievous Bandito, a raccoon; Goggles, a different kind of monkey, and the wise old Tam Man. Mishaps and misadventures follow him as he searches for a way to reunite with his family.

The book includes cover illustrations by Jay and further drawings throughout by Alison Moore.

Jay said: “I started the stories several years ago when my friend Alison, who was living in France, was unwell. I regularly sent her a chapter of the story. In return, she sent me a drawing to accompany each adventure. It enabled me to be supportive to a friend when I couldn’t be there in person.

“I never expected it to become a book, but friends and other authors in Sagtur inspired me and encouraged me to share Douc’s adventures.”

You can buy “Douc’s Adventures In Mexico” in paperback or Kindle versions from Amazon from May 1.
